What does 215 lbs look like

The difference between the two is density. Two things that weigh the same can be very different in size. A pound of marshmallows is going to take up much more space than a pound of steel. The same is true with fat and muscle. A pound of fat is bulky, fluffy, and about the size of a small grapefruit. A pound of muscle is hard, dense, and about the size of a tangerine.

Not all pounds are created equal. Two different people who weigh the same amount can look very different when one has a high percentage of fat and the other has a high percentage of muscle. An extra 20 pounds of fat may give you a softer, less toned appearance. But an extra 20 pounds of muscle will look firm and sculpted. Muscle also serves a different function than fat. Fat helps insulate the body and trap in body heat.

Muscle boosts your metabolism. But having additional lean body mass isn't unhealthy. A better measure of health is body fat percentage, which isn't dependent on height. Men aged 20 to 39 should ideally have a body fat percentage between 8 and 19 percent. Between ages 40 and 59 the ideal range is 11 to 21 percent, and between 60 and 79 percent the ideal range is 13 to 24 percent. Only a medical professional can tell you what your ideal weight should be.

If your weight falls outside the ideal BMI range, talk to your physician. Your doctor can tell you if you are healthy, or if you should adjust your weight. Your doctor may perform a direct test of body fatness, such as a skinfold thickness test or bioelectrical impedance testing. I need to hit my forearms harder, my wingspan is so long so they look terrible. You'd prob look thick solid tight with a bit more muscle good luck.

The reported average ideal weights for men and women also grew from one decade to the next, from to lbs for men, and from to lbs for women. A person can feel good about themselves yet also recognize that they need to make some changes to achieve a healthier weight, says Stanford.

Try focusing on your individual health rather than numbers like BMI or weight, says Stanford. Stanford published a paper in the February issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings that suggests it may be time to reconsider the one-size-fits-all approach of the BMI measurement and personalize it according to race, ethnicity, and sex. I work with people to find what is the healthiest weight that they can get to and maintain over their lifetime.

There can be a variety of reasons for the lack of diagnosis, according to Stanford.
